How old do you have to be to go to Chicago Tattoo and Piercing or any other tattoo or piercing place for that matter?

Sure do wish people would at least look up the laws before they answer. No, a minor cannot get a tattoo with parental consent. The law is posted below, and notice, nothing says a parent can consent to a minor getting a tattoo. The shops don’t make their own rules, they have to follow the laws set by the state they tattoo in.

(720 ILCS 5/12-10) (from Ch. 38, par. 12-10)

Sec. 12-10. Tattooing Body of Minor.

(a) Any person, other than a person licensed to practice medicine in all its branches, who tattoos or offers to tattoo a person under the age of 18 is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.

(b) Any person who is an owner or employed by a business that performs tattooing, other than a person licensed to practice medicine in all its branches, may not permit a person under 18 years of age to enter or remain on the premises where tattooing is being performed unless the person under 18 years of age is accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian. A violation of this subsection (b) is a Class A misdemeanor.

(c) As used in this Section, to “tattoo” means to insert pigment under the surface of the skin of a human being, by pricking with a needle or otherwise, so as to produce an indelible mark or figure visible through the skin.

What do you think of Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo adaptation?
Have you seen the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?
If so are you planning on seeing the new one?

I actually didn’t like the idea of Fincher doing this adaptation. They specifically underline “not a remake of the movie, but our adaptation of the book”. Idk it’s set in Sweden and when you change location it’s always bad, you can feel it.

so, in short – I don’t like the idea of this

yes, I have seen the original, the whole trilogy. It’s a great movie, I don’t see how it can be any better. all Fincher can do is make her tittts bigger, apart from that the movie is perfect.

plus, I saw the poster for this new one – the girl looks awful, I don’t mean not pretty, I don’t care about that, I mean awful, she doesn’t feel like that character at all, I didn’t get any vibes from her, makes me appreciate the original even better. Loved the actors, all of them, they perfectly portrayed their characters, and it’s just a truly Swedish movie, I don’t want any other.

Yes, I’m still planning on seeing the new one, even though I don’t have much expecations for it.

Anyone been to miami ink tattoo shop in october?
planning to go to miami ink in october as would like to have tattoo there. will any of the artists be there to do the tattoos like ami?

So, I was there last year, and Miami Ink was closed down at the time. However, a few doors down, Chris and Darren had opened up a new shop. I can’t remember the name. They took no appointments. It was first come first served. And those guys were working.
Just be prepared. I went in with a reference of what I wanted done(a small bracelet around my wrist), was told about a 1 hour wait and quoted a price of $550-$850 depending on how long it would take to place the stencil.
An excellent system, everyone has a chance of getting in, but way over inflated prices.
If you’re interested, get there early, they open at noon.

Sure they can. However, the color may not show, or may show in grayscale. This is something you should definitely consult your artist with.
they are also prone to a condition called Keloiding, which is like extra scaring, so make sure the artist knows what they’re doing, and have tattooed dark skin before.

Yes: When it comes to adding Color to Darker Skin a more important factor is Skin under tones/ Tint, we must look beyond your skin’s base color and also examine its undertones.

A simple understanding of how the undertones changes the inks color and knowing the skins base tint enable us as artist to chose more complimentary colors instead of matching color tones therein; blue, red, yellow complexions.

Color: “showing in grayscale colors” I never seen this from a properly applied color tattoo unless the color matchs the skin tones.

Scaring: or Keloiding this is mostly caused from very bad tattooing, if you have very thin skin and a condition exist were your small cuts turn into large raised scars I would not recommend large tattoos.
